AAA (Axel, Aspire, Advanced)
An advanced training program designed for those that have passed the Learn to Skate Free Skate levels and are ready for the next challenge in their skating journey. Emphasis will be on structured training, bridging figure skating with competitive goals, focusing on core skills of jumps, spins, and edges. This program will follow US Figure Skating curriculums, incorporating elements from the Axel curriculum and Aspire program with a customized course created by the coaches to provide pathways for skill development for testing and competition while fostering athleticism, technique, and confidence in a supportive group setting.
Participants must be current EFSC members and have passed Free Skate 6 (or by coach approval)
Schedule:
Saturdays 7:00 – 8:00 am
7-7:15 off-ice warm up and technique; 7:15 – 8:00 On-ice training
Expected to start January 17th and run for 2 consecutive 6-week sessions
$300 for each 6-week session
Dates:
First session: January 17th, 24th, 31st ; February 21st, 28th ; March 7th
Second session: March 14th ; April 4th, 18th, 25th ; May 2nd, 9th

Showcase Eugene (team performance group)
An exciting multiple-level performance group combining a little synchro, a little theater-on-ice and a lot of fun and team skating.
The group will work on an extended performance for the EFSC spring show.
Open to skaters of all ages that have passed Basic 5/Adult 5 skills and are interested in working on a performance receiving instruction in skill-building, choreography and performance arts.
Participants must be current EFSC or Learn to Skate members.
This group will need a minimum of 15 skaters to cover costs and to be effective as a multi-tiered performance group.
Schedule:
Saturdays 8:00 – 9:00 am
8-8:45 on-ice for skill-building and choreography; 8:45 – 9:00 off-ice for blocking and technique
Expected to start January 17th and run one 12-week session, culminating with the performance at the spring show on May 16th
$480 for 12-week session. Costuming will be additional based on performance, how many are in the group, parent volunteers to help create, etc.
Dates: January 17th, 24th, 31st ; February 21st, 28th ; March 7th, 14th ; April 4th, 18th, 25th ; May 2nd, 9th

Both programs will require a minimum number of skaters so it’s important that if you are interested in participating that you email sk8eugene@gmail.com to express your interest asap. The registration system is being created for these two programs currently and should be open by this time next week.
As always, we will work with anyone that needs help with the fees in order to participate, please let Christy or Denise (or sk8eugene@gmail.com) know if you need a payment plan.

Elements of Performance
Bring your skating to life and elevate your program. This workshop is designed for skaters who want to enhance the artistic and expressive aspects of their skating. Participants will explore musicality & interpretation, choreographic detail, and performance presence, integrating performance quality into every element on the ice. Great preparation for upcoming competition circuits.
Edge Work & Power
Unlock the secret to speed, control, and artistry.
This session is designed to refine technique and unlock the hidden strength in every glide and turn. Learn how to harness the full potential of your edges, improve balance and stability, and generate power in every stride.
Intro to Axel
Take your jumping skills to the next level!
Through focused drills and guided practice, skaters will work to strengthen their jumps and build the confidence needed to move closer to mastering the Axel.
Edge Elements Workshop
This power and edge class will focus on stamina, and learning fun new edge skills, including Ina Bauers, split jumps, and spread eagles. This workshop allows skaters to refine their skating skills and add uniqueness to their routines.
Ice Dance Basics & Patterns
For everyone wanting an introduction or a reminder of basic dance skills. This workshop will introduce and practice dance patterns. tempo, and techniques used in ice dancing.
Jump & Spin Workshop
Dedicated work on jumps and spins focusing on form, body positioning, technique, and posture. - with an added focus on what you can do over the summer to keep your jumps strong. Work on scratch spins to camels, waltz jumps to axels - this is extra ice time with instruction for those skaters looking to work on jumps and spins. Axel prep for those that are at that level.
Appropriate for levels Basic 6 and up.
Edges & Artistry
Skate beyond the basics and glide into the expressive world of figure skating with our Edges & Artistry class—a fusion of technical precision and creative movement. Designed for skaters who want to elevate their performance, this class focuses on clean edge work while unlocking the power of personal style on the ice.
All skaters Basic 6 / Adult 6 and above will benefit from this workshop.
The Little Things
Posture, extensions, arm placement - it's the little things that take your skating from good to great. Coach Elaine and Coach Denise will help you find your graceful side and will share tips on ways you can improve your skating even when you are off the ice this summer.
Appropriate for levels Basic 5, Advanced Adult levels and up.
Intro to Synchro
Give synchronized skating a try and be part of a team!
This workshop will teach skaters the basics of synchro and how to work with others. We will go over group stroking exercises, circle drills, wheels, and a simple intersection - and we'll learn some new skating vocabulary!
Skaters will also learn the different types of holds used in team skating.
Must have good stops and confident crossovers to participate.
Check with the coaches if you are unsure.
Artistry In Motion Badge Series
The Artistry in Motion (AIM) program introduces skaters to the basic principles and philosophy of choreography, presentation and performance. The badge program provides a foundation in basic body alignment, movement and line. Using this program will contribute to the training of the complete figure skater.
This series will tap into the creative mind of every skater while introducing tempo and rhythm, expression, and basic program construction.
